Cornerstone Robotics Announces Strategic Partnership with Medtronic
Hong Kong-based surgical robotics developer Cornerstone Robotics has entered into a strategic collaboration with medical technology firm Medtronic to scale its global reach.
On September 1, 2026, Hong Kong-based Cornerstone Robotics confirmed a strategic partnership with global medical technology company Medtronic. The agreement aims to accelerate the international deployment of the company’s Sentire surgical robotic system.
The collaboration follows a series of regulatory milestones for Cornerstone Robotics, including receiving EU CE marking and HSA approval in Singapore earlier in 2026. The company has been actively expanding its footprint through clinical trials in regions including the UK and cross-border collaborative research projects.
The surgical robotics sector has seen intense competition as manufacturers race to capture market share through advanced tele-surgery capabilities and automation. Cornerstone Robotics has supported its growth through substantial capital injections, including a $200 million financing round completed in late 2025.
By aligning with Medtronic, Cornerstone Robotics seeks to leverage broader distribution capabilities and industry expertise, marking a significant step in its transition from a regional developer to an international player in the surgical technology space.
