Cosel Launches New 300W and 1000W Power Supplies for Medical and Industrial Applications

Cosel Co, Ltd, based in Tokyo, has introduced two new power supply models, the PCA300F (300W) and PCA1000F (1000W), intended for demanding medical and industrial applications. These models complement the company's previously released PCA600F, expanding the available power range.

The new power supplies feature a compact design and high power density. They are equipped with an integrated UART interface, allowing for comprehensive monitoring and control of power supply parameters through up to 83 commands. A PMBus version is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The units comply with stringent medical standards, including EN/IEC 60601-1, offering 4,000 VAC isolation between input and output and a 2xMOPP patient protection rating. The power supplies operate across a wide voltage range (85–264 VAC and 88–370 VDC). Output voltage and current can be adjusted both analogously and digitally, and the units are suitable for constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) modes.

Cosel's PCA series power supplies are designed for 1U height chassis and utilize the company's optimized cooling and packaging technology. The units are intended for operation in temperatures ranging from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius and feature an intelligent, temperature-controlled fan. Standard protection includes overcurrent, overvoltage, and thermal shutdown, and they come with a five-year warranty.
