Costa Rica Launches Interactive Map of Cultural and Natural Heritage

Costa Rica has introduced "Discover Costa Rica," a new, free interactive digital platform designed to allow users to explore and learn about the country's territory and heritage. The platform was developed by the official country brand, essential COSTA RICA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship and key academic institutions from the University of Costa Rica.

The platform integrates geographical, oceanographic, cultural, historical, and scientific data about Costa Rica, aiming to enhance accessibility to this information for students, educators, researchers, domestic and international tourists, and the general public. Content is available in both Spanish and English.

Users can navigate the interactive map to explore diverse locations, including national parks, islands, waterfalls, and volcanoes, as well as ecosystems and protected areas. The map also highlights Costa Rica's extensive maritime territory, which constitutes 92% of its total area, alongside significant historical achievements and data on biodiversity.

This initiative is part of essential COSTA RICA's strategy to promote national identity and educate the public about the country's unique natural, cultural, and territorial assets. The "Discover Costa Rica" map is accessible through the essential COSTA RICA website.
