CovationBio Introduces New Bio-Based Fibers at Textile Fair

CovationBiomaterials LLC is presenting two new bio-based fiber innovations at the Functional Fabric Fair in New York. The company is highlighting Xatryx® bioPTMEG, a bio-based polyether glycol (PTMEG), and the newly launched Sorona® elasterell-p fiber.

The materials are developed to increase the use of renewable resources within the textile industry. Xatryx® bioPTMEG is derived from plant-based feedstocks and is designed to offer enhanced performance and durability for textile applications. This introduction aims to provide sustainable alternatives to conventional petroleum-based materials.

The Sorona® elasterell-p fiber is an addition to the existing Sorona® product line. It is made using 1,3-propanediol (PDO) derived from plant sugars through a fermentation process. This fiber is intended to provide stretch and softness in apparel and other textile goods.

CovationBio aims to reduce the environmental footprint of the textile sector by offering bio-based solutions. The company anticipates a growing market demand for sustainable materials in clothing and textiles.
