CPC Biotech Launches One-Inch Single-Use Sterile Disconnect for Bioprocessing
CPC Biotech has introduced the RevolveSD Series, a new one-inch single-use sterile disconnect designed to simplify and speed up the sterile disconnection of bioprocess tubing.
CPC Biotech, a part of Dover Corporation, has launched the RevolveSD Series, a one-inch single-use sterile disconnect for bioprocessing applications. The new product allows for the sterile disconnection of tubing in fewer steps than traditional methods, according to the company.
The RevolveSD connector is designed to significantly reduce the time and complexity associated with sterile tubing disconnections in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The single-use design also aims to prevent accidental re-connection, thereby reducing the risk of process sterility breaches. The component is constructed from polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), a material compatible with harsh chemicals and metal-free to eliminate corrosion risks.
With a background in sterile connectors, including its AseptiQuik Series, CPC Biotech states that the RevolveSD Series addresses an industry need for a high-flow, sterile, and easy-to-use disconnect. The company reports that early customer feedback highlights the product's ease of use and its role in streamlining fluid disconnections for large-scale bioprocessing.
