CPC emphasizes internal discipline during fifth plenary session
The Communist Party of China has reaffirmed its commitment to rigorous internal governance to support the objectives of the 15th Five-Year Plan.
The 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) concluded its fifth plenary session in Beijing with a renewed focus on strict internal discipline. Party leadership stated that establishing clear institutional standards is a prerequisite for effective governance and maintaining public trust, especially as the nation moves into the 2026–2030 period of its 15th Five-Year Plan.
The party is continuing a decade-long initiative to refine its internal regulations, aiming to prevent corruption through improved oversight and institutional safeguards. Officials noted that weak discipline could threaten the successful implementation of national goals, making strict adherence to party rules a central administrative priority.
According to Beijing Review, this approach to rule-based internal governance also informs China’s broader foreign policy. The party advocates for international cooperation based on the principles of the UN Charter, emphasizing equality between nations and the importance of shared frameworks for managing global relations.
