Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Masino Steps Down, David Deno to Succeed

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. announced on Monday that CEO Julie Masino is stepping down, effective August 10. Masino, who joined the company in 2023, will be succeeded by David Deno, who most recently served as the CEO of Bloomin' Brands.

Deno will assume the role of CEO on August 10. Masino will remain on the company's board of directors and in an advisory capacity until October 9 to ensure a smooth transition. The company's stock saw a midday dip of over 5% on Monday following the announcement.

Masino's tenure included navigating significant public backlash in August 2025 after the company briefly introduced a new logo, which was quickly reversed after customer outcry and a substantial drop in market value. Despite this, Masino oversaw a period of recovery, with the company reporting strong fiscal third-quarter earnings in June, which sent shares up over 30%.

Deno stated his intention to "unlock the full potential of this remarkable brand," focusing on delivering food and experiences while driving profitable growth. He brings experience from Bloomin' Brands, which operates multiple restaurant chains.
