Cracker Barrel Sells Maple Street Biscuit Company Brand, 16 Locations to Close

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store has sold its Maple Street Biscuit Company brand to Southeast-based chain Biscuit Belly. The transaction includes Maple Street's trademark and 35 locations.

In addition, Cracker Barrel announced it will close 16 Maple Street locations not included in the sale. The company stated that Maple Street's operations represented less than 2% of Cracker Barrel's annual revenue.

Biscuit Belly plans to convert the acquired 35 Maple Street locations to its own brand over the next 18 to 24 months. This move will more than triple Biscuit Belly's current footprint.

Cracker Barrel anticipates the divestiture will result in non-cash charges of approximately $43 million to $47 million between its fiscal 2026 final quarter and fiscal 2027. The company also disclosed a sale-leaseback transaction for 26 of its namesake locations, expecting net proceeds of about $77 million for debt reduction.
