Crédit Agricole launches German banking operations

Crédit Agricole Group has officially launched Crédit Agricole Deutschland, marking a significant expansion into Europe's largest economy. This move aligns with the group's medium-term ACT 2028 plan, which focuses on accelerating growth and extending its universal banking model across the continent.

Germany has been identified as a priority market due to its economic size and substantial savings market. Crédit Agricole has maintained a presence in the country for over seventy years, primarily serving corporate and institutional clients.

The newly established Crédit Agricole Deutschland will now extend the group's services to German retail customers. This initiative will leverage an existing base of approximately one million retail clients, integrating them into a digital banking experience enhanced by AI and supported by local human assistance.

The group aims to double its total customer base in Germany to two million by the end of 2028. This expansion is a key component of Crédit Agricole's strategy to strengthen its presence within continental Europe.
