Crédit Agricole Launches Natural Capital Division

Crédit Agricole has announced the creation of Crédit Agricole Capital Naturel, a new division dedicated to supporting businesses, investors, and local stakeholders in addressing challenges related to the preservation and restoration of natural resources. The division aims to provide long-term assistance in managing natural capital.

The initial operational focus for Crédit Agricole Capital Naturel will be on forests. The division is set to launch a new fund, "Amundi Arbora Nova," with the objective of mobilizing €200 million for the restoration of forest ecosystems. This initiative involves collaboration with EcoTree, a partner focused on ecosystem restoration.

Crédit Agricole Capital Naturel will leverage the broader expertise of the banking group to offer advisory, financing, insurance, and investment solutions to entities committed to environmental transition. Starting in 2027, the division's scope is planned to expand gradually to encompass other components of natural capital, including water and biodiversity.

The establishment of this division is driven by the conviction that preserving natural capital presents both a significant environmental challenge and an opportunity for creating sustainable value. Timothée Jaulin has been appointed as the Head of the Natural Capital Division.
