Crédit Agricole partners with Mistral to scale industrial AI deployment
Crédit Agricole has launched a dedicated AI subsidiary and signed a partnership with AI laboratory Mistral to integrate large-scale machine learning across its banking operations.

Crédit Agricole has established Crédit Agricole Artificial Intelligence, a unit tasked with consolidating the group’s AI technology and overseeing its industrial-scale deployment. The new entity is now fully operational and aims to streamline AI integration across the group's various business lines.
The partnership with Mistral provides the bank with access to a portfolio of AI models and orchestration tools. The collaboration prioritizes projects including AI-driven customer service agents, automated business processes, and cybersecurity enhancements. By pooling resources, the companies aim to reduce project delivery timelines and improve the efficiency of their technology stack.
Crédit Agricole intends to fine-tune large language models using its internal data and business-specific use cases. This approach is designed to increase performance while minimizing computing power consumption and environmental impact. The infrastructure for managing these AI workloads will be provided by the group’s technology arm, CA-GIP.
