Crédit Agricole S.A. acquires Santander's stake in CACEIS
Crédit Agricole S.A. has completed the acquisition of Santander's remaining 30.5% stake in asset servicing company CACEIS. This transaction brings Crédit Agricole S.A.'s ownership of CACEIS to 100%.

PARIS – Crédit Agricole S.A. announced on Friday that it has finalized the acquisition of Santander's remaining 30.5% stake in CACEIS, the asset servicing and payments giant. The transaction, initially announced on July 4, 2025, consolidates Crédit Agricole S.A.'s ownership of CACEIS to 100%.
The move is expected to bolster Crédit Agricole's position in the asset servicing sector, a key area for financial institutions managing investments for third parties. CACEIS services a substantial volume of assets and is a significant player in the European financial landscape.
This acquisition aligns with Crédit Agricole's strategy to strengthen its specialized financial services business lines. By fully integrating CACEIS, the bank aims to enhance its service offerings and operational efficiencies within this segment.
"This transaction marks a significant milestone, allowing us to fully capitalize on the synergies within the group," said Philippe Brassac, CEO of Crédit Agricole S.A., in a statement. "We remain committed to providing excellent service to our clients and stakeholders."
The acquisition is part of a broader trend of consolidation within the financial services industry, as companies seek scale and specialization to navigate evolving market demands and regulatory environments.
