The incident began when an eBay account commented on Seb's post with "you called for us?" Seb responded with "no i didn’t" and "I don’t even like eBay," with both replies garnering hundreds of thousands of likes.
Seb, who shared the interaction in a video on TikTok, stated his intention to charge brands for using his comment section for publicity. The invoice priced "social media exposure via Instagram reel comment" at 1,200 dollars per 100,000 interactions.
The video detailing the event has accumulated over 15 million views across TikTok and Instagram, highlighting a potential shift in how brands engage with creators online and raising questions about compensation for digital engagement.
