CRIF Acquires Stake in Nomisma
CRIF has acquired a 30% stake in the economic research company Nomisma. The transaction positions CRIF as Nomisma's largest shareholder and strategic industrial partner.

Bologna, Italy – In May 2015, CRIF, a global provider of business information and credit risk management services, announced its acquisition of a 30% stake in Nomisma, an Italian economic research company. The deal, approved at Nomisma's shareholders' meeting, makes CRIF the largest shareholder and strategic industrial partner.
CRIF, founded in Bologna in 1988, is a leading European player in the banking credit information sector and a significant international operator in integrated business and commercial information, credit, and marketing management services. It is also registered as the first Italian rating agency at a European Community level.
Piero Gnudi, Chairman of Nomisma, commented on the significance of the acquisition. "This is an important day for Nomisma," Gnudi stated. "Besides approving a positive financial result and returning to profit after five years of losses, we welcome a new shareholder with international standing." He believes CRIF will help Nomisma grow across all its activities.
Carlo Gherardi, Chairman of CRIF, described the partnership as strategic. "Nomisma's expertise and independence are assets that CRIF has chosen to invest in," Gherardi said. "We bring Italy's richest business and credit information assets and a direct presence in over 20 countries. Nomisma's recognized authority in industrial research will help us strengthen our offering and create more value for our mutual clients."
The strategic partnership aims to develop new synergies, particularly in property services and international expansion. Nomisma will maintain its operational independence, while the new structure is expected to facilitate the development of new research areas, including the agro-industrial sector.
