CRIFBÜRGEL Rebrands as CRIF to Unify Global Identity
German information services provider CRIFBÜRGEL is now operating under the name CRIF. The change aligns the German operations with the global CRIF group and establishes a unified brand across the DACH region.

CRIFBÜRGEL, a German provider of information services, has officially changed its name to CRIF. The company, formed in 2016 from the merger of Bürgel Wirtschaftsinformationen and Deltavista, aims to consolidate its brand identity with the wider global CRIF group.
The rebranding reflects recent strategic realignments and product innovations within the company. The name change creates a uniform brand presence for the DACH region, encompassing operations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Dr. Frank Schlein, Managing Director of CRIF GmbH, stated that the move underscores the growing importance of cross-border collaboration in the information services sector.
CRIF in Germany plans to offer more integrated solutions for identification, credit risk, and fraud prevention, aiming to provide a comprehensive customer journey. Their strategy involves partnerships with external service providers and API-driven integration to create a unified user environment across platforms.
In recent years, the company has introduced new solutions for digital onboarding, open banking, compliance, and ESG assessments. CRIF aims to be the sole provider in the German market offering these combined value-added services from a single source. CEO Carlo Gherardi noted CRIF's global recognition in the FinTech sector, highlighted by its ninth consecutive inclusion in the IDC FinTech Rankings top 100.
