Croatia to acquire 12 French-made Rafale fighter jets
Croatia and France have finalized a contract for the acquisition of 12 Rafale fighter jets. The deal includes associated logistics support and training services.
Croatia's Minister of Defence Mario Banozic and France's Minister of Armed Forces Florence Parly signed a contract in Zagreb for the sale of 12 Rafale fighter jets to Croatia. The value of the state-to-state contract was not disclosed but includes the aircraft, equipment, and a three-year logistics support package.
This acquisition follows an international tender process where the Rafale, manufactured by Dassault Aviation, was selected over several European and American aircraft. Croatia cited the jet's technological and operational superiority as key factors in its decision.
Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, expressed satisfaction with the agreement, highlighting the relationship of trust with Croatia. He stated that the Rafale aircraft are expected to provide complete satisfaction to the Croatian Air Force and contribute to the nation's sovereignty.
The Rafale is a multirole fighter aircraft developed by Dassault Aviation. It is currently operated by several air forces, including those of France, Egypt, India, Greece, and the United Arab Emirates.
