Zagreb, Croatia – Professionals from Croatia's and Serbia's tourism and business sectors convened in Zagreb on Monday for the "Visit Expo B2B Networking" event. The gathering aimed to explore business opportunities related to EXPO 2027 Belgrade, the Western Balkans' first specialized exposition.

The event facilitated networking and the establishment of new partnerships, emphasizing the potential for EXPO 2027 to leverage existing Croatian-Serbian economic ties for regional business growth. Igor Kovačević, COO and Director of International Participants for EXPO 2027, highlighted Zagreb's strategic position at the crossroads of the European single market, Serbia, and the Western Balkans.

A panel discussion titled "Opportunities and Impacts of EXPO 2027" addressed tourism and trade prospects, followed by targeted B2B meetings. These sessions focused on fostering collaborations within the hospitality and tourism industries.

Bilateral trade between Croatia and Serbia reached nearly 1.9 billion euros in 2025, according to the Croatian Chamber of Economy. Other potential areas for cooperation include transport, energy, IT, construction, and agriculture. EXPO 2027 Belgrade is scheduled from May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme "Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All."
