CRRC Completes Production of 110-Meter Recyclable Wind Turbine Blade
CRRC has completed the production of a 110-meter recyclable wind turbine blade at its Sheyang facility. The blade achieves over 95% recovery of key materials using its proprietary technology.

CRRC has finalized the manufacturing of its self-developed, 110-meter high-performance recyclable wind turbine blade at its Sheyang plant in Jiangsu Province. The blade utilizes proprietary technology designed for efficient material separation and recovery, achieving a retrieval rate exceeding 95% for key raw materials. This development addresses the growing challenge of managing end-of-life large-scale wind turbine blades.
The newly produced blade incorporates a special, easily separable resin that meets high mechanical strength and fatigue resistance requirements. Through a reversible chemical detachment technology, the resin can be efficiently separated from the reinforcing fibers. Both recovered materials can then be repurposed for use in new wind turbines, the automotive sector, or infrastructure projects, moving beyond the traditional single-use model.
This advancement comes as China's renewable energy sector expands rapidly, leading to an increasing volume of decommissioned wind turbines. Estimates suggest over 30,000 wind turbines will be retired in China by 2030, generating substantial waste. CRRC's recyclable blade technology offers a solution to this burgeoning issue and supports the sector's sustainable growth.
The company's commitment to circular economy principles in wind energy is further demonstrated by its previous developments. In March 2025, CRRC introduced China's first recyclable thermosetting resin blade. Additionally, in April 2025, CRRC launched China's first mobile, high-efficiency, intelligent processing system for decommissioned blades, creating a flexible recycling solution.
