Crypto Prices Soar Following U.S. Treasury and Trump Actions
Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP are seeing significant price increases. The surge is driven by the U.S. Treasury's expansion of its bond buyback program and President Trump's support for new crypto legislation.

Major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP, have experienced significant price surges over the past 24 hours. Bitcoin's value has climbed nearly 11.5%, Ethereum has risen over 19%, and XRP has gained more than 15%. Other digital currencies are also showing substantial upward movement.
The rally is attributed to two key factors. Firstly, the U.S. Treasury announced plans to double its bond buyback program, injecting more liquidity into the markets. Increased liquidity can encourage investors to shift funds from lower-risk assets like bonds to more volatile investments such as stocks and cryptocurrencies.
Secondly, President Donald Trump has reiterated his call for Congress to pass the Clarity Act, a piece of legislation aimed at providing regulatory certainty to the cryptocurrency industry. Despite some opposition to the act, Trump's endorsement serves as a positive signal to crypto investors and could contribute to the sector's legitimization, potentially attracting more retail investors.
Despite today's gains, cryptocurrencies have faced challenges throughout 2026. Bitcoin remains down 18% year-to-date, Ethereum is down 23%, and XRP is down 37%. The sector has grappled with volatility, regulatory uncertainty, and geopolitical tensions, prompting investors to seek safer assets. However, the current price increase offers a welcome development for crypto investors.
