Crypto.com to close consumer app in Hong Kong by February 2027
Singapore-headquartered exchange operator Crypto.com will discontinue its consumer-facing application in Hong Kong effective February 1, 2027.

Crypto.com has announced the closure of its consumer cryptocurrency application in Hong Kong, with operations scheduled to cease on February 1, 2027. The company stated that the move is part of an initiative to streamline global operations and reallocate resources toward long-term business objectives.
Affected users have been notified of the pending closure. The company is currently providing guidelines for account termination and asset withdrawals, with dedicated customer support assistance offered to ensure an orderly transition for the local user base.
The discontinuation of the retail app is distinct from the company's separate regulatory efforts. Through Foris DAX HK Limited, Crypto.com maintains an active application for a virtual asset trading platform license with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. This application is specifically focused on establishing an institutional-grade trading platform, which remains independent of the retail app shutdown.
