CTA Construction Managers Marks Steel Topping Off for New Melrose Fire Station

CTA Construction Managers recently marked a significant construction milestone with the steel topping-off ceremony for the new Melrose Fire Engine 2 Station. The event, held in conjunction with the City of Melrose, the Melrose Fire Department, and project partners, celebrated the placement of the final structural steel beam.

This step is part of the first phase of Melrose's larger Public Safety Buildings Project, which includes the construction of a new police station and future improvements to existing fire stations. The new approximately 24,000-square-foot facility will feature three apparatus bays, a maintenance bay, administrative areas, fitness facilities, and sleeping quarters for firefighters.

The Engine 2 personnel are temporarily operating from Fire Headquarters during construction to ensure uninterrupted emergency response services. The project aims to provide modern facilities designed to support firefighters and the community for decades to come.

CTA Construction Managers has worked with the project's Owner's Project Manager, Vertex, and architectural firm Dore & Whittier on multiple projects for over a decade. This phase of construction involved the installation of the primary structural steel frame, paving the way for subsequent phases of work including building enclosure and interior construction.
