CTM and Huawei Partner to Enhance Macau's AI-Powered Network Security

CTM and Huawei have established a partnership aimed at enhancing Macau's network security by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced networking technologies. The collaboration was announced at the Network X 2026 conference in Vienna, where CTM outlined its strategy to transform its network infrastructure from traditional connectivity to an intelligent, deterministic, and secure platform.

Hudson Lou, Head of Network Services and Development at CTM, highlighted the company's commitment to building an "intelligent, deterministic, and secure" network infrastructure that meets the high reliability and low latency demands of AI. The new infrastructure, incorporating AI-driven Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) capabilities, will provide the network with service awareness and dynamic traffic steering towards optimal paths.

Moving forward, CTM plans to integrate telemetry with AI-based analytics to transition from manual optimization to automated, AI-driven processes. This shift is expected to deliver a deterministic and differentiated user experience for high-value scenarios, thereby driving revenue growth. The company advocates for network security to evolve into a built-in capability of the network itself, rather than solely relying on edge defenses.

The partnership focuses on three key areas for network security enhancement: AI-powered device protection through behavioral analytics, security-as-a-service for rapid deployment, and future-proofing against quantum computing threats. This includes integrating Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) into the IP architecture, offering a quantum-safe solution for critical data transmission and reducing operational costs.
