Indian data center provider CtrlS DataCentres has raised ₹250 crore (approximately $26.1 million) in equity funding, with a significant portion coming from Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. Kamath invested ₹200 crore, while Sreeram Reddy Vanga, co-founder of Kofluence, contributed the remainder.
The company plans to utilize the new capital to scale its infrastructure and capacity build-out. This expansion aims to meet the surging enterprise and hyperscaler demand driven by India's artificial intelligence boom and accelerating digital workloads.
Founded in 2007, CtrlS currently operates 19 data center campuses across nine key hubs in India. The company is also exploring international markets, with a 150 MW hyperscale data center campus under development in Thailand and plans for expansion into the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
CtrlS aims to achieve an installed capacity of 4 GW by 2031 to capitalize on India's AI-driven data center market. The country's overall data center capacity is projected to exceed 8 GW by 2030, indicating substantial growth opportunities.
