Culture In Motion™ Tour Expands to U.S. Midwest

The national traveling arts and empowerment roadshow, "Culture In Motion™," founded and led by Kwanza Jones, is expanding its reach to the U.S. Midwest. In partnership with The Apollo, the initiative aims to provide communities with SUPERCHARGED® empowerment experiences and engage with the legacy of African American cultural contributions in the region.

The tour seeks to celebrate artists, institutions, and traditions that continue to shape American culture. The program recognizes the Midwest for its significant role in African American creativity, artistic innovation, entrepreneurship, and civic leadership. It will foster community-centered experiences and collaborations with local artists and organizations to amplify creative voices.

Cities on the itinerary include St. Louis, Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland. These locations are noted for their historical theaters, museums, churches, and community spaces that preserve and promote African American cultural heritage through music, storytelling, and performance. The roadshow intends to highlight the region's unique cultural expressions and support existing creative energy.

A key feature of the tour is the mobile cultural hub, the "SUPERCHARGED® Boost Bus™," which brings art, storytelling, and community engagement directly into neighborhoods. This initiative extends The Apollo's nearly 100-year legacy beyond Harlem, aiming to increase cultural access and connection.
