Curaçao Airport Implements Biometric Border Control
Curaçao International Airport has launched a new border control solution utilizing biometric identity verification. The Curaçao Express Pass system aims to significantly reduce processing times for travelers.

Curaçao International Airport has implemented a new border control system based on biometric identity verification. The Curaçao Express Pass, developed with Amadeus IT Group, is designed to expedite passenger flow through border checkpoints.
The new system allows travelers to verify their identity in advance using a smartphone from home. Upon arrival at the airport, their biometric data and digital identity are directed to immigration systems, enabling border control clearance in as little as five seconds.
The Ministry of Justice of Curaçao and Curaçao Airport Holding collaborated with Amadeus and other partners to realize the solution, aiming to improve airport efficiency, reduce queues, and enhance the passenger experience.
This initiative is expected to set a new standard for airport border control solutions. The system is anticipated to not only speed up passenger transit but also optimize authorities' operations and resource allocation at the airport, integrating technology, government, and airport operations into a seamless travel process.
