Czech Republic increases toll prices in 2026
The Czech Republic has increased the prices for its highway vignettes once again. The new prices, effective from the start of 2026, will raise fees by up to 9.5 percent.
The Czech Republic is raising the prices for its highway vignettes, effective from January 1, 2026. The increases range up to 9.5 percent for the various vignette durations.
Motorways and expressways in the Czech Republic are subject to tolls for most vehicles. Vehicles up to 3.5 tons, excluding motorcycles, require a vignette to use these roads.
Since 2021, vignettes are only available digitally and must be purchased through official channels. These include the Czech Road and Motorway Directorate's online portal, ticket machines at border crossings, specific petrol stations, and Czech post offices. Authorities warn against unofficial sellers who may charge additional fees or sell vignettes at inflated prices.
Electric vehicles are exempt from tolls in the Czech Republic. Plug-in hybrid vehicles receive a discount on the vignette price. The annual vignette is not tied to the calendar year but has a freely selectable validity period starting from the purchase date.
