D2C Fashion Startup Theater Raises ₹75 Cr for Offline Expansion

Indian direct-to-consumer (D2C) fashion and accessories startup Theater has raised ₹75 crore (approximately $7.8 million) in a Series A funding round led by investment firm Niveshaay.

The round saw participation from new investor Physis Capital and existing investors, including Prath Ventures. The funding values the startup at a post-money valuation of ₹410 crore (about $43 million).

Theater intends to use the fresh capital to expand its offline retail presence across Tier I and II cities in India. The company also plans to invest in brand-building initiatives, such as celebrity partnerships and marketing campaigns.

Founded in 2021, Theater offers footwear, stockings, perfumes, and bags, positioning itself between imported luxury products and mass-market offerings with a focus on cruelty-free fashion. The startup aims to combine its digital operations with an expanding physical retail footprint to build a nationally recognized mass-premium fashion brand.
