Daiwa House Subsidiary Stanley Martin Acquires Holiday Builders
Daiwa House's U.S. homebuilding arm, Stanley Martin Homes, announced the acquisition of Florida-based Holiday Builders. The deal expands Daiwa House's presence in the American housing market.

Stanley Martin Homes, a U.S. homebuilder owned by Japan-based Daiwa House, has announced its acquisition of Florida-based Holiday Builders. The transaction is set to enhance Daiwa House's footprint in the American housing sector, particularly in Florida.
Holiday Builders, which closed 1,050 homes in 2023 and ranked as the 62nd largest U.S. homebuilder, will add approximately 10,600 controlled lots and over 40 communities to Stanley Martin's portfolio in Florida. Stanley Martin already maintained a presence in the state.
Daiwa House has been actively expanding its U.S. homebuilding operations through a series of acquisitions. The company acquired Stanley Martin Homes in 2017 and has since purchased other U.S. builders such as Trumark Homes and CastleRock Communities. Daiwa House aims to deliver 10,000 single-family homes annually in the U.S. by 2026.
Japanese firms are increasing their investments in the U.S. housing market due to demographic and structural factors. Japan faces a shrinking and aging population, limiting domestic growth, while the U.S. continues to see population growth and household formation, especially in Sun Belt markets. The fragmented nature of the U.S. homebuilding industry also presents opportunities for well-capitalized international players to consolidate regional operators.
