Darkness to Light Awards Funds to Local Child Protection Leaders Through 2026
Darkness to Light, an organization focused on preventing child sexual abuse, has opened its third award cycle to provide funding for local prevention leaders until 2026.

Charleston, S.C. – Darkness to Light, an organization dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse, is now accepting applications for its 2026 Stewards of Children® Advocacy Awards. The program aims to support and expand the reach of local leaders working in child abuse prevention.
Building on previous years, which saw nearly $40,000 in scholarships awarded to 22 organizations in 2025, the initiative continues to invest in community-based prevention efforts. The awards help equip adults with the knowledge to identify, intervene, and respond to child sexual abuse.
"Every day, advocates across the country are creating safer environments for kids, but too often, resources limit their reach," stated Rhonda Newton, CEO of Darkness to Light. "These scholarships remove barriers and empower prevention leaders to expand their impact where it's needed most."
The scholarships can be used for Authorized Facilitator certification, Stewards of Children® training, and educational materials. Applications are open until October 30, 2026. Darkness to Light encourages applications from child advocacy centers, schools, youth-serving organizations, and faith-based communities seeking to enhance child protection.
