Dassault Aviation and Dassault Systèmes Partner for Secure Cloud Collaboration in Defense Programs

At the Paris Air Show on June 20, 2023, Dassault Aviation and Dassault Systèmes announced an expansion of their long-term collaboration, focusing on a secure and sovereign cloud environment for future defense programs. Dassault Aviation will leverage Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE cloud platform for the development of its next-generation fighter aircraft, a key component of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).

The chosen platform, operated by Dassault Systèmes' brand OUTSCALE, has received SecNumCloud qualification from the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI), the highest security accreditation in France. This sovereign cloud environment is designed to facilitate secure collaboration among Dassault Aviation and its partners on critical defense projects.

This initiative is positioned as a catalyst for the development of a European sovereign cloud infrastructure, with potential applications extending to sectors such as healthcare and public services. Dassault Aviation CEO Eric Trappier emphasized the necessity for European autonomy in defense technology development.

Dassault Aviation plans to extend the use of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform across all its new programs as part of its digital transformation. Bernard Charlès, CEO of Dassault Systèmes, highlighted the partnership's role in establishing a secure European sovereign cloud and the platform's advanced capabilities for complex defense engineering.
