Dassault Aviation, its subsidiary Dassault Falcon Service (DFS), and Groupe ADP have formalized a five-year partnership aimed at establishing Paris-Le Bourget Airport as a leader in sustainable aviation.

The agreement outlines a commitment to developing sustainable aviation practices, including the distribution and use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), the electrification of all ground operations such as refueling and towing, and the utilization of geothermal energy for airport buildings and hangars.

"At Dassault Aviation, we are convinced that business aviation must be at the forefront of decarbonization in aeronautics," stated Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation. "Our aircraft are well-suited for integrating innovations that reduce CO2 emissions, and our predominantly corporate clients support this initiative. We are exploring various technological avenues, with SAF appearing highly promising. Our Falcon jets can already operate with a 50% SAF blend, though only 30% mixtures are currently available. We must accelerate this progress, and our agreement with Groupe ADP supports this."

Augustin de Romanet, Chairman and CEO of Groupe ADP, emphasized the role of the airport ecosystem in the environmental transition. "The decarbonization of the aviation sector will begin with smaller modules and requires the full commitment of the airport ecosystem," he said. "As infrastructure managers, we have a responsibility to encourage and integrate new technologies. Paris-Le Bourget is already the first European airport with a dual permanent offering of SAF, dispensing nearly 3.2 million liters in 2023. We are enhancing our facilities to enable 100% electrification of ground operations for our clients."

The collaboration is also expected to enhance the attractiveness of Paris-Le Bourget as an employment hub and position it as a model for low-emission airport operations.
