Dassault Aviation has completed the first flight of its new Falcon 10X business jet on June 19, 2026, marking a significant step in the development of its largest purpose-built business aircraft. The project began with a clean-sheet design approach.

The Falcon 10X features the largest cabin in business aviation, measuring 16.4 meters (53 ft 10 in) in length and 2.77 meters (9 ft 1 in) wide. It offers a maximum range of 7,500 nautical miles (13,890 km) and a top speed of Mach 0.925. The cabin's modularity allows for extensive customization to meet specific owner needs.

Innovations in aerodynamics, flight controls, and engines were incorporated. The company highlights that fighter jet-derived digital flight control systems enhance safety. New production facilities, including a composite wing facility in Anglet and a final assembly hall in Bordeaux-Mérignac, were established to support the aircraft's advanced structures and systems.

The aircraft’s cabin is pressurized to a simulated altitude of 3,000 feet while flying at 41,000 feet. Its air filtration system provides 100 percent fresh air above 14,000 feet, removing ozone and volatile organic compounds. Dassault states the aircraft will achieve exceptionally low interior sound levels.

The certification program for the Falcon 10X has begun and is expected to take two years. Dassault Aviation is a French aircraft manufacturer known for its military and business aviation products.
