Dassault Aviation has opened registration for the 13th season of its Dassault UAV Challenge, an annual competition for engineering students. The event, held since 2014, invites students from engineering schools and universities to design, automate, and optimize drones.
The competition aims to provide students with insight into the challenges faced by aircraft manufacturers. Participants work in teams of two to six students, utilizing skills in model aircraft design, automation, programming, electronics, and machine learning, alongside project and team management.
Following several weeks of selection, the challenge involves over six months of design, development, and testing. The finalists will compete over a weekend in May, with a concluding event honoring the winning team.
Registration for the 2026/2027 edition is open until Sunday, September 27. Interested students can apply by emailing Dassault-Uav-Challenge@dassault-aviation.com.
