Dassault Aviation, the French aerospace manufacturer, provided an update on its activities and programs for the first half of 2017. The company highlighted progress on its Rafale fighter jet program, including domestic deliveries and significant export contracts, alongside developments in its business jet division.

Domestically, one Rafale fighter was delivered to the French Air Force during the period, bringing the total delivered to 149 out of 180 ordered. Development continued on the F3-R standard for the Rafale, including successful validation firings of the Meteor missile. The company also supported its existing Rafale fleet operating in various theaters.

In export markets, three Rafale jets were delivered to Egypt, bringing the total delivered to that country to nine out of 24 ordered. The execution of the 24-aircraft contract for Qatar continued, and deliveries for the 36 Rafale jets ordered by India were underway. Dassault Aviation also responded to India's request for information regarding a potential order of 57 naval Rafale aircraft.

The business jet market remains challenging, according to the company. Despite persistent difficulties and price competition, the Falcon 5X completed its first flight on July 5, 2017. The Falcon 8X, which entered service earlier, continued to perform well, achieving London City Airport certification and demonstrating its long-range capabilities. The company also noted progress in its Indian joint venture, DRAL, focused on manufacturing components for both military and civil aircraft.
