Dassault Aviation Reports Significant Orders and Development Milestones
Dassault Aviation announced significant first-half 2026 orders and development progress, including advancements in Rafale fighter jets and the Falcon 10X business jet.
PARIS – Aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation has reported its first-half 2026 results, highlighting a robust order book and strategic advancements in both military and business jet programs.
As of July 2026, the company secured an order for 16 Rafale fighter jets for Ukraine as part of a roadmap agreement between France and Ukraine. In India, the Defence Acquisition Council decided to enter into negotiations for the acquisition of 114 Rafale aircraft, with Dassault Aviation committing to "Make in India" principles and ongoing partnerships.
The first half of 2026 also saw Dassault Aviation successfully conduct a simulated collaborative flight engagement between a Rafale and a drone equipped with electronic warfare capabilities. Simultaneously, the Falcon 10X business jet completed its maiden flight on June 19, 2026, commencing its flight test campaign. The company is continuing to modernize its industrial infrastructure, including new production facilities at DRAL and the installation of photovoltaic panels across several sites.
In terms of technological development, Dassault Aviation is integrating digital tools and artificial intelligence, including the development of autonomous functions for the future Rafale F5 standard. The company also announced progress on its VORTEX spaceplane concept, with studies for the VORTEX-D demonstrator and an offer submitted for the VORTEX-S operational version in collaboration with European partners.
Regarding the Future Combat Air System (FCAS)/Système de Combat Aérien Futur (SCAF) program, leaders from France and Germany have agreed to stop the joint development. Dassault Aviation is exploring alternative solutions, potentially a Franco-French or broader cooperative demonstrator for a future combat aircraft.
