Dassault Aviation's Falcon 10X Completes First Flight
Paris, France – Dassault Aviation's new Falcon 10X business jet successfully completed its maiden flight on Thursday, June 19, 2026, taking off from Bordeaux-Mérignac airport.
The flight initiates the aircraft's extensive flight test campaign. Test pilots evaluated the aircraft's handling qualities and systems at 15,000 feet before climbing to 40,000 feet and accelerating to Mach 0.82.
The two-person crew, test pilot Sébastien Dupont de Dinechin and co-pilot Fabrice Dougnac, flew for two and a half hours before returning to Bordeaux. They reported the flight proceeded as planned.
The Falcon 10X is the latest addition to Dassault Aviation's Falcon business jet line. The company is the only aircraft manufacturer with a new aircraft type in flight during 2026. Dassault notes its dual expertise in civil and defense aviation technology as a long-term strength.
Following the first test aircraft, a second test plane nearing completion will soon take to the air. A third aircraft will be outfitted with a full interior and used primarily for testing systems and cabin functionality.
