Dassault Aviation's latest long-range business jet, the Falcon 10X, made its first flight on June 19, 2026, from Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. The successful flight is a key milestone, initiating the aircraft's comprehensive flight testing program.

The flight, piloted by Sébastien Dupont de Dinechin and co-pilot Fabrice Dougnac, lasted two and a half hours. During the flight, the crew evaluated the aircraft's handling qualities and systems at various altitudes and speeds, reaching up to Mach 0.82 at 12,000 meters. This initial flight demonstrates the program's readiness ahead of further development.

This maiden flight is the culmination of years of work by Dassault Aviation's employees and its global partners. The company plans to introduce a second test aircraft soon, followed by a third unit equipped with a full cabin for system and interior functionality tests. Dassault Aviation highlighted that it is the only aircraft manufacturer to fly a completely new aircraft in 2026.

Dassault Aviation has a long history in both military and civil aviation, delivering over 10,000 aircraft worldwide in its 110-year history. The company's Falcon line of business jets is a significant part of its portfolio.
