Data: California Leads US Investors in AI Adoption
A new analysis from Investing.com reveals California as the top state for AI adoption in investment decisions, with Ohio and Colorado tying for second place.

California leads the nation in investors utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for investment decisions, according to a new analysis by Investing.com covering 12 months of investor activity. Ohio and Colorado tie for second place, followed by Florida and Texas. New York, a traditional financial hub, did not rank in the top ten.
The Investing.com AI Investing Index analyzed user activity and engagement with AI-focused stocks on a state-by-state basis, adjusted for audience size. The findings indicate a significant increase in AI usage for investment research across the country.
Florida stands out with the highest level of AI use for investment research, while Pennsylvania leads in engagement with AI-focused stocks. Thomas Monteiro, Senior Analyst at Investing.com, noted that AI has leveled the playing field by providing retail investors access to previously hard-to-reach information, leading to more sophisticated investors.
The study highlights that AI is being used for a range of purposes, from stock analysis and financial news to company financial data. This trend underscores AI's growing role in investment decision-making and challenges traditional notions of financial centers' importance.
