Data Center CPU Startup NuvaCore Seeks Funding Round
NuvaCore, a startup developing CPUs for data centers and founded by former Apple and Nuvia chip design leaders, is reportedly raising capital at a valuation of approximately $2.5 billion.
NuvaCore, a startup focused on designing central processing units (CPUs) for data centers, is seeking to raise new funding at an estimated valuation of $2.5 billion. The company was founded by veteran chip architects previously involved with Apple and Nuvia.
Reuters reported that the funding round is ongoing, and the final valuation and amount could change. Earlier this year, The Information indicated that NuvaCore had already secured at least $200 million in investment.
The company's chip design strategy prioritizes CPU core IP and places instruction set implementation later in the design flow. NuvaCore aims to optimize for performance, power, and area (PPA), focusing on the high sustained performance required for artificial intelligence workloads.
With its experienced leadership and focus on AI-driven demands, NuvaCore aims to capture a share of the growing market for specialized data center processors.
