Dataväxt introduces automated field activity tracking for agriculture

Dataväxt has launched a sensor-based system that automatically logs farm equipment activity to streamline field documentation for farmers.

20 October 2026

Dataväxt, a subsidiary of the Lantmännen Group, has developed an automated tracking system designed to replace manual recordkeeping in agricultural field operations. The technology identifies specific implements attached to tractors, documenting tasks such as seeding, fertilization, and crop protection without manual input from the operator.

The system utilizes small tags placed on implements, which communicate with the tractor's cabin technology to register the specific equipment in use. This data is then synced with location and task information, effectively creating an automated log of field operations.

The industry has long faced challenges with the administrative burden of regulatory and operational field tracking. By shifting from manual logging to sensor-based automation, the system aims to reduce human error and save time for agricultural operators. The company is also integrating AI-based tools into its platform to further improve data management for farming operations.
