Chinese medical device company 奥精医疗 (Ao Jing Yi Liao), specializing in bone repair implants, is experiencing an internal power struggle. Shareholder Cui Han and her husband, Hu Gang, have proposed the removal of the company's 83-year-old chairwoman, Huang Wanlan, who is Cui Han's mother. The company's board has rejected the proposal. In a July 11 announcement, 奥精医疗 stated it would not submit the shareholder proposal for deliberation at a general meeting, citing that the current nine board members are serving their terms and meet all regulatory requirements. The proposal to add Hu Gang to the board would exceed the company charter's limit of nine directors. Cui Han and Hu Gang collectively own 8.76% of 奥精医疗's shares. Their proposal followed the death of founder Cui Fuzhai in 2025. Prior to his death, Cui Fuzhai, his wife Huang Wanlan, and son-in-law Hu Gang jointly controlled the company. Ownership was inherited by Huang Wanlan and Cui Han, making Huang Wanlan, Cui Han, and Hu Gang the controlling parties. Founded in 2004, 奥精医疗 focuses on the research, development, production, and sale of medical implants for tissue regeneration and repair. The company was an international pioneer in developing a mineralized collagen-based bone material closely resembling natural human bone tissue, achieving both clinical application and industrialization.
