David Knox Appointed Chief Financial Officer of Hyperion DeFi
Hyperion DeFi has appointed David Knox, formerly of PayPal, as its new Chief Financial Officer. The appointment is part of the company's strategy to accelerate its decentralized finance (DeFi) initiatives.
LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. – Hyperion DeFi, Inc. (NASDAQ: HYPD) has appointed David Knox, CFA, as its new Chief Financial Officer, the company announced Monday. Knox brings extensive expertise in scaling capital markets strategies and financial services businesses.
The appointment is described as part of a broader strategic initiative to strengthen governance and accelerate the company's decentralized finance (DeFi) strategy. Hyperion DeFi is a U.S.-listed company focused on building a long-term strategic treasury of the Hyperliquid blockchain’s native token, HYPE.
Prior to joining Hyperion DeFi, Knox served as Head of Capital Markets and Head of Finance for Global Credit and Financial Services at PayPal. In his role there, he led the expansion of the company’s lending segments and oversaw financial planning and reporting across PayPal and Venmo’s global financial services platforms.
Hyperion DeFi’s interim CEO, Hyunsu Jung, highlighted Knox's prior experience leading major financial institutions. "David has helped lead some of the largest financial institutions in the world, and now he’s bringing that expertise to accelerate our mission of moving institutional finance to Hyperliquid," Jung stated. Knox himself expressed enthusiasm for his new role, intending to leverage his experience to bridge traditional Wall Street and the decentralized future.
