Daydream brings AI-powered fashion search to brand websites

Daydream, an AI-powered fashion search and discovery platform, has launched "Powered by Daydream." This new service allows fashion brands to integrate natural-language search capabilities directly into their digital storefronts. Initial participants in the pilot program include brands such as Staud, Alice + Olivia, and Hampden Clothing, with over 25 additional brands already signed on.

E-commerce search has seen little fundamental change over the past three decades. Consumers are accustomed to using keywords and browsing static inventory lists. Daydream's new solution allows shoppers to describe their needs using conversational language, mimicking an interaction with an in-store associate or personal stylist.

Julie Bornstein, Founder and CEO of Daydream, states that the field of agentic commerce is still in its early stages. The company faces the challenge of helping consumers unlearn decades of ingrained search habits. Additionally, AI's sometimes non-deterministic results can be confusing to users, though Daydream engineers are working to ensure results are helpful.

"Powered by Daydream" is embedded directly into e-commerce platforms, simplifying the implementation for brands. Alice + Olivia highlighted the ease of deployment. The service also provides brands with valuable data and insights into customer queries and preferences, aiding them in better understanding and potentially refining their product offerings.
