DayOne Data Center Billings Exceed 1GW Amid Johor Expansion
Singapore-based DayOne announced its data center billings have surpassed 1 gigawatt. The company's expansion in Johor, Malaysia, is supported by significant financing.

DayOne, a Singapore-based digital infrastructure company, has reported that its data center billings have exceeded 1 gigawatt. This marks a substantial increase from its previous capacity of 121 megawatts at the end of 2024.
The expansion efforts are bolstered by a recent financing increase to $7.2 billion for its Johor facility in Malaysia. A consortium of seven banks has provided an additional 15 billion ringgit (approximately $3.67 billion) to support these developments.
As of September 20, the company's bookings reached 2.3 gigawatts, a considerable rise from 1.25 gigawatts at the close of 2025. Johor has emerged as a key data center market, partly due to its proximity to Singapore.
This growth occurs as Malaysia's rapid data center development faces scrutiny over power supply and environmental impact concerns. While the region's location is advantageous, it also raises questions about sustainability in the face of increasing demand.
