DB Schenker Deploys Körber Robotics in Prague
Logistics company DB Schenker is enhancing warehouse efficiency at its new Prague distribution center with a robotics solution from Körber. The deployment is among the largest of its kind in Eastern Europe.
Hamburg, November 3, 2022 – Logistics provider DB Schenker is implementing a robotics solution from Körber at its new distribution center in Prague to improve warehouse operations.
The solution integrates automation and software components, including conveyor systems, over 100 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and a task management system enabling efficient goods-to-person order picking. The facility also features pick-by-light and put-to-light systems to enhance worker ergonomics and performance.
DB Schenker states the investment is part of its strategy to expand services and meet growing e-commerce demands. "We are well-positioned to expand and improve our service offering for our rapidly growing customer base," said Ingo Brauckmann, Executive Vice President Contract Logistics / SCM Europe at DB Schenker.
The collaboration between Körber and DB Schenker dates back to 2006. This project reinforces Körber's role as DB Schenker's preferred supplier for AMR-related systems. The implementation is projected to double operational efficiency by 2034.
