Logistics giant DB Schenker has deployed over 100 autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at its new distribution center near Prague, Czech Republic. The implementation represents one of the largest AMR deployments of its kind in Eastern Europe, aiming to significantly boost warehouse efficiency.

The automation system, provided by Körber, integrates with software solutions to orchestrate robot movements and optimize picking and goods-to-person operations. The 18,000 square meter facility also includes a comprehensive conveyor system, value-added service lines, a packaging area, and a shipping sorter. Approximately 15 workstations are equipped with advanced light-guided systems to enhance ergonomics and performance.

The center is designed to support the needs of a major electronics company. DB Schenker anticipates that the new automation solutions will enable operational scalability and a performance increase projected to double by 2034.

DB Schenker and Körber have a long-standing partnership dating back to 2006. Körber serves as DB Schenker's global preferred supplier for AMR-related systems. The new facility is expected to be fully operational by early 2023.
