DBU Naturerbe Presented Climate Protection Project on Instagram
DBU Naturerbe participated in the Action Program Natural Climate Protection week by presenting its "NaturErbeKlima" model project on Instagram. The initiative focuses on restoring wetlands and forests to enhance climate resilience.

Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) Naturerbe participated in the Action Program Natural Climate Protection (ANK) themed week, held from October 7 to 14. The DBU Naturerbe unit showcased its "NaturErbeKlima" model project through its Instagram account, @DBU.naturerbe.
The "NaturErbeKlima" project aims to strengthen nature's capacity for climate protection by focusing on the restoration of wetlands, moist habitats, and floodplains. The initiative seeks to make forests more resilient and to provide more space for wilderness and natural processes.
Susanne Belting, technical director at DBU Naturerbe, highlighted that natural climate protection can be consistently implemented on the National Natural Heritage sites managed by the foundation. "We focus on moors, wet habitats, and floodplains. We make forests more resilient in the future and give nature space for itself," she stated.
The ANK themed week was organized by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUKN), in collaboration with the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) and the Competence Centre for Natural Climate Protection (KNK). Project carriers nationwide participated, drawing attention to natural climate protection under the motto "Strengthening Nature – Protecting Climate."
