DBU releases recording on digitalization in energy supply
The German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) has released an online recording of its event discussing the role of digitalization in managing the complexities of an energy system increasingly reliant on renewable sources.

The German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) has made an online recording available from its recent event, "Digitalization in Energy Supply." The event, held on September 9, addressed the challenges and solutions associated with integrating renewable energy sources into the national grid.
The seminar focused on how digital applications are essential for synchronizing the growing complexity and fluctuating supply and demand within the energy system. This complexity arises from the shift from a few large producers to numerous small, decentralized energy solutions.
Participants included Katrin Anneser from DBU's energy department, alongside DBU project partners Artur Löwen, CEO of gridhound GmbH, and Dyke Wilke, CEO of fleXality GmbH. They discussed the upcoming challenges for the energy system, the importance of storage and grid infrastructure, and the benefits of demand-side flexibility.
The recording explores how digital tools can help manage these issues, contributing to a more stable and sustainable energy transition.
