DbyD Launches First Collection Made With Recycled Metal
EssilorLuxottica's DbyD brand has launched its first collection, Re.Metal, in September 2023, which uses 60% recycled metal sourced from electronic waste and industrial scraps.

EssilorLuxottica's house brand DbyD introduced its Re.Metal collection in September 2023, featuring eyewear made with 60% recycled metal derived from electronic waste and industrial scraps. The launch coincided with World Clean-Up Day on September 16.
The Re.Metal collection aims to provide consumers with more sustainable choices by transforming waste materials into new eyeglass frames. DbyD stated that the collection is the result of years of research and innovation, seeking to make recycled materials accessible in the eyewear market.
DbyD, which joined EssilorLuxottica following the acquisition of GrandVision, is committed to environmentally conscious practices. The brand designs functional eyewear using materials that align with consumer values and intends to further integrate circularity and recycled materials into future product lines.
The company plans to expand the use of recycled materials in both its sun and optical eyewear collections. DbyD focuses on timeless designs intended for longevity and suitability across various lifestyles and personalities.
