Debevoise Recruits Zahra Sowder as Fund Finance Partner
Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has expanded its Fund Finance practice in New York with the addition of Zahra Sowder as a partner.
New York – July 14, 2026 – Debevoise & Plimpton LLP announced today that Zahra Sowder has joined the firm as a partner in its New York-based Fund Finance practice.
Sowder advises private funds and financial institutions on a wide range of complex fund financing transactions. These include subscription lines and net asset value (NAV) facilities, as well as tailored financing solutions for limited partnership (LP) and general partnership (GP) stakes. She also has significant experience advising corporate borrowers on asset-based financings.

Sowder previously practiced at Debevoise for over 15 years as an associate and counsel before moving to another international law firm. She holds a Juris Doctor degree from UCLA School of Law, earned in 2008.
